Lift Repair Services

Lift Repair Services

At Uplift Hydraulics, we specialize in hydraulic lift repairs, and component replacements. With years of hands-on experience and a highly skilled team, we ensure that every job is completed with precision, safety, and care. From minor fixes to full component overhauls, our engineers deliver reliable and lasting solutions to keep your lifts running smoothly.

If your required service isn’t listed below, please contact our team — we’re happy to provide tailored support for any hydraulic-related repair work.

Site Attendance Survey

Our team can attend your site to carry out a visual inspection and survey of your hydraulic lift. This allows us to gather the necessary technical data to prepare an accurate quotation.

(Please note: this visit does not include fault diagnosis or dismantling of lift components.)

Investigation

We’ll visit your site to investigate and diagnose specific, pre-reported lift faults. Where possible, we’ll fix the issue during the same visit (subject to parts availability). If further work is required, we’ll provide a detailed fault report and a quotation for any additional repairs.

Ram Seal Replacement

We supply and install replacement ram seals, inspect the full length of the cylinder rod, and remove any surface scoring. The pit area is then thoroughly cleaned to remove any residual hydraulic oil.

**All replacement ram seals are covered by a 12-month guarantee.

For added value, we use guide grabbers to safely support the lift car — eliminating the need for expensive lifting beam tests. Our custom-designed guide grabbers also allow for the secure removal of ram diverters and ropes, minimizing mid-shaft lifting risks.

Valve Overhaul

This service involves dismantling the existing valve unit, replacing all relevant oil seals, and fitting new components as required. The valve is then reassembled, tested for internal and external leaks, and fine-tuned to deliver optimal ride performance.

Valve Replacement & Upgrades

We remove the existing valve and install a new or upgraded unit, complete with all required hydraulic fittings, internal hoses, and connections to integrate seamlessly with the current tank, pump, and main hose system. The new valve is carefully calibrated for smooth, consistent operation.

Whenever a valve replacement is performed, we also **recommend replacing the hydraulic oil** to maintain system efficiency and longevity.

Hydraulic Oil Change

We supply premium-grade LG46 hydraulic oil, specifically formulated with viscosity enhancers for lift applications.

Our process includes:

For environmentally conscious customers, we also offer biodegradable and long-life oil options.

Additionally, we provide a system flush service to remove water, debris, or contaminants from the hydraulic system — helping prevent wear and ensuring smooth performance.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we use Ex Box packaging, where only the inner oil bag is disposed of, and the outer box is recyclable — significantly reducing waste.

Power Unit Accessories

We can supply, replace, or add a range of power unit accessories, including:

Pump & Motor Replacement

We’ll drain and clean the hydraulic oil, remove the old pump and motor, and install new, high-quality components. We recommend using fresh oil and replacing motor contactors during upgrades to prevent future issues.

Our replacement service is typically completed within one working day, offering a faster and more efficient alternative to motor rewinds, which can take up to a week.

Motor Rewinds

For motors that can be refurbished, we’ll remove, transport, and rewind the existing motor at our engineering facility. Once repaired, we reinstall the motor and refill the tank with fresh hydraulic oil. To avoid recurrence of failure, we **recommend replacing both the hydraulic oil and motor contactors** during this process.

Hose Replacement

We supply and install custom 2-wire and 4-wire hydraulic hoses complete with isolating stauff clamps, fittings, and dowty seals. Each hose is pressure-tested, individually marked, and certified, with 2-wire hoses tested up to 250 bar and 4-wire hoses up to 500 bar.

Oil Coolers

Our air-blast oil coolers are available for installation in motor rooms or remote locations for improved ventilation.

Each cooler system is tailor-made to suit the specific lift application, ensuring efficient temperature management and system reliability. Each cooler includes:

Pipe Rupture Valves

We supply and install dampened single or twin rupture valves designed to suit your hydraulic system’s pressure, flow, and configuration. After installation, a pipe rupture valve test is performed to verify correct operation, and a **test certificate is issued**.

A3 Gate Lock Valves

The **A3 Gate Lock Valve** acts as a backup safety mechanism that prevents unintended lift movement in the event of a major valve leak. It ensures the lift car remains securely in place while passengers enter or exit. This valve can be retrofitted to most hydraulic lift models for added safety assurance.

Chains & Roping

We replace worn or stretched chains with either exact matches or upgraded alternatives that improve lifespan and reduce long-term costs. We also provide a re-roping service for hydraulic installations, including new ropes, clips, and ends as required. After completion, rope certificates are issued for compliance records.

Borehole Camera Inspections

Using the latest CCTV technology, we can perform a visual inspection of borehole cylinders in situ. Our engineers provide a detailed report with video evidence stored on a memory card — helping identify internal wear, corrosion, or other issues without dismantling.

Supplementary & SaFed Testing

Uplift Hydraulics performs all forms of SaFed and supplementary hydraulic testing, including individual cylinder and system pressure tests. We also carry out Part 10 and BS8486 testing in conjunction with modernization works. All tests include official certification upon completion.

Diverter Re-Bushing

We provide a complete re-bushing service, including removal of worn diverters, precision machining, and reinstallation. Each diverter is re-skimmed and re-bushed in our workshop to restore full functionality and extend service life.
